About On Tour Brewing Company
Mark is convinced the perfect pint is best paired with live music and a great friends. A third-generation Chicago native, Mark and his wife Amanda moved to Denver, Colorado in 2009 where he had a day job in operations management, perfecting the art of customer service and moonlighted as a homebrewer. He became obsessed with perfecting unique and delicious beer recipes in his nerdy, custom built mini-brewery.
During his eight years in Denver, Mark’s passion for home brewing grew and after advancing to the final rounds of the 2013 and 2015 National Homebrew Competition, Mark and Amanda agreed it was time to see the dream of On Tour Brewing become a reality. Together, they packed up their belongings and drove from Denver to Chicago to build his vision of a place where people can take a break and press pause over a cold, flavorful pint.
When Mark isn’t obsessing over every detail of developing the On Tour experience he loves to spend time with Amanda and their son Ryder, travel to new places, see live music, play golf and disc golf, ski, hike, camp. Naturally, he incorporates sampling new beers into every activity along the way.
On Tour Brewing Parking
The area around On Tour (Grand Central Brewery & Goose Island both nearby have similar issue) is in a warehouse district with no real parking lots anywhere. Oddly parking for me at 3PM on a Thursday in April was tougher then at 430ish when I left. I am guessing that much of the parking was taken up by people working in the area.
That said, good luck finding parking nearby later in the evening. If there is a larger event just train, bus, Divvy, or catch a ride over or you will be spending some time trying to find a spot that wont get you towed.
On Tour Brewing Food & Food Trucks
No food but you can watch for when they have food trucks. I can’t find any information about if they are cool with bringing in food so you might want to ask or ask for forgiveness!

On Tour Brewing Service & Staff
I interacted with a few people including a woman on her first day. I also bumped into Mark (owner) and spoke with him for a few minutes. Everyone was great and stayed on top of everything despite the fact that I had my nose down in my laptop working (they have wifi – bonus!).
Final On Tour Brewing Thoughts
The space is a bit out of the way from where I usually hangout (thus why it has taken me some time to visit) but overall the beer, brewery and staff were great. The “window” into the brewery is really cool and the space doesn’t look huge from the outside but is really open once you walk in.
Lastly there is free parking (if you can find it), some other great breweries nearby and the beer/prices are great. I can’t really complain and will have to try and get back to On Tour and the Beer District they are located in.
On Tour Brewing Beer Review
They don’t offer flights but you can get most if not all of their beers as a $2-3 5oz taster. I tried 4 and the total was $8 plus tax and tip.
- Getaway Day – easily my fave of the group. Will get on my next visit for sure.
- Foolish Heart – a new Pale Ale they just released
- Typical Daydream – will be getting a pint on my next visit.
- Lightning Will – love that everyone lately is putting out Pilsners
