About Due South Brewing
The brewery’s taproom is a place to catch the game or watch the latest batch being brewed while you enjoy a cold pint or stop in to grab a growler of fresh beer to go. There are two bars connected, one with AC and one without, so you can choose if you want to sit surrounded by the equipment or keep cool “inside”.
Since this is a brewery, not a brewpub, there is no kitchen. But bringing in take-out or ordering delivery to the taproom is encouraged.
Happy Hour is Tuesday through Friday, 4-6 pm. Due South beers are all $1 off the normal price. We usually have a local food truck at the brewery on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 5:00-10pm.
Due South Brewing Parking
I was a bit confused when I went as I missed the sign where it says to enter in the back. There is little parking and no real entrance but when you get in the back you will see a big door and sign. There is plenty of parking but the place is BIG so there may be times where parking is tough.
Due South Brewing Food & Food Trucks
No food and no food trucks. At least they don’t mention or seem to promote any nights when they have food trucks. If you visit their site they give you a list of places to eat within a 2 mile radius so that should confirm it for you.
So if you are hungry you will need to do that elsewhere or buy it/have it delivered to the brewery as they do allow that.

Private Tour – $50 for as many people as you want (less than 25 works best). That includes tax.
Due South Brewing Review
The place is slightly hidden but once you find a way around to the back you should be golden. There is a HUGE space for hanging out that doesn’t have AC and a smaller yet good size enclosed area that has the main taproom area (and AC). On my visit everyone was in there as so was the only bartender. You can see right into the main working brewery on your way to the enclosed taproom or go and grab a beer and hang out and play bags/cornholio/whatever you call it personally. The “outside” space is really awesome I have to say.
The enclosed taproom area seemed cheap – not sure how to explain it. The cutting board flight holder, the bar top itself and just everything in that area seemed “cheap”. I guess if it part of the theme or the atmosphere they nailed it and I missed that. I love a dive bar and if given the choice will happily visit and drink/eat in one but this felt like something quickly thrown up in a stripmall. Anyways.
I was able to snag some wifi while there (they have a guest wifi) so while sipping beers I got some work done – bonus. There were some tourists in and out and what appeared to be locals (FIU sweatshirt) hanging out at the bar talking with the bartender and each other.
Overall the place is huge, has a chill feeling, and is likely a great place to get a group together and have a few pints.
Due South Brewing Service & Staff
The one staffer I interacted with was the bartender. She didn’t pay much attention to me but I was sitting there with my laptop and there was a group or two that she appeared to know (likely regulars) and other smaller groups coming and going that kept her pretty busy.
Final Due South Brewing Thoughts
The place is big and open – great for hanging out or groups. The 3 beers I had didn’t blow me away honestly though, which is sad because I had heard good things. That said, if I lived in the area and wanted to grab some beers with friends one night or on a weekend this would be the place. The only thing missing to really make it a hangout place was TVs so you could hang out and watch football! (Yes I know it’s not a sports bar but that would be handy!)
Due South Brewing Beer Review
They don’t do flights but do let you buy a smaller 5oz beer/taster. I went that route and tried 3 beers and was given a weird holder that appeared to be a plastic cutting board with 4 holes drilled into it. Not the best way to try and move beers but it seemed to work well enough.
- Category 5 IPA – didnt love for some reason.
- Peach Citrafied – liked this more than I thought I would.
- Coastline – their Lager.
